Fraudsters At Work in the East Midlands


Members are advised to be aware of fraudulent activity relating to Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd.
In the week commencing 29 August 2016 a HAE member based in the East Midlands was contacted by a lady calling herself Mandy Berry claiming to be from Hodgson Tool Hire Ltd., enquiring about a quantity of wet and dry Vacuum cleaners.


Bogus Scottish Companies Involved in Fraud


The Police Service of Scotland is investigating a scheme involving several companies which have been set up for the purposes of committing fraud. The company identities are used to obtain goods on credit including plant equipment, high value cars, vans, bulk fuel containers, fuel cards, portakabins and shipping containers. The goods are thereafter stolen.
